It is sometimes necessary to change a Mixed Number to an Improper Fraction.

This is done in three easy steps.

Step 1:

Multiply the whole number by the denominator.

To that product, in this case, 32, add the numerator.

The 35 becomes the new numerator of the improper fraction. The denominator stays the same.
